News anchor Allison Kropff from Tampa posted a video to her Facebook page of her "inadvertently" interrupting a live weather forecast while playing "Pokemon Go." "You guys have got to be cautious with these phones, these Pokemon," he said. "You are only walking around all over the area." embed.
Finally, and maybe most of all, Yo-Kai can talk! In fact, the little boogers have a ton of style. Do not get me wrong; I love my carefully curated Pokemon collection to death, but do I know any of these critters that can only say their names? I know the entire backstory of my main Yo-Kai, Jibanyan. Other Yo-Kai that I meet can ask me for things and clearly get their feelings across... and that's awful trendy in comparison to Pokemon. Now, of course, it's not possible at this point to make Pokemon unexpectedly able to speak to their trainers, but the Pokemon anime definitely spends time helping us get to understand particular Pokemon as creatures with special characters and difficulties.
In the immediate future, those updates will include Niantic focusing on stabilizing the servers and launching the game in other regions, having just officially released in America, New Zealand, and Australia.
Yo-Kai Watch is a bit like the new Pokemon for Japanese children, complete with its massively-popular anime show. In fact, in a number of ways, I believe it's even cooler than Pokemon.
First, Yo-Kai Watch takes place in our world, and your character has normal child anxieties. You are not some pre teen who's tossed out into the wild world to face down dangerous creatures and train them to engage in bizarre gladiatorial combat rituals. You're a normal child who desires to fit in with her (or his) friends and stresses when her parents fight. Nonetheless, I 'm proposing that Pokemon games could spend a bit more time coping with stories that we can relate to as people.
What one other component of the game Niantic intends to address is the lack of explanation it gives for certain game mechanics. Addressing particularly the rings that form around a Pokemon while catching them, Hanke declares the game is not intentionally obtuse.
"We treat it as an ever-evolving game," Niantic CEO John Hanke said in an interview with Game Informer. "It is not something that just minted and then issued on start day and not transformed."
"I can not say we were that clever, no" Hanke said of whether the game was intended to have players work together to learn the app's intricacies. "We got lots of feedback during the beta, we made lots of advancements, we repaired lots of bugs, but I 'd put it into that category of something we had love to make that more so that it is more clear."
Now that Pokemon Go has correctly launched --- in specific lands, at least ---Niantic Labs has no intention of leaving the game in its current state. Instead, the developer plans to update the game always.
In Yo-Kai Watch you play a child who gets the power to see and talk to Yo-Kai, brilliant spirits who embody human characteristics and emotions. It's possible for you to recruit a ton of them to your side by defeating them in battle, but that is pretty much where the direct similarity to a Pokemon game ends. The battle system is real time and fully distinct from Pokemon, and the flow of the story is totally distinct. Still, there are a couple of things about Yo-Kai Watch's setting and the story that I believe The Pokemon Company could learn from.
The people in the Yo-Kai Watch world also feel more real than Pokemon game folks. Everybody, from small kids to old folks, in the Pokemon world, is obsessed with talking about Pokemon. Virtually everybody you speak to gives you meta-game guidance about Pokemon or Pokemon-related services. They aren't folks; they are an extended tutorial delivery service. The people in Yo-Kai Watch, on the other hand, have distinct personalities and problems you can select to help them with. Often these difficulties can be solved by summoning or dispelling a Yokai, but they do not understand that. They only know their employee is inexplicably late for work, they lost an important plaything, or they don't know how to ask out the object of their affection. To put it differently, you can see them as genuine people with interests unrelated to you and your quest. I would love to see more of that from.
Hanke noted that this does not mean the game will automatically receive important attributes with each update, but Niantic is consecrated to consistently working on and enhancing the game. As Hanke has previously said, he reiterates that characteristics like trading and upgrades to PokeStops and gyms are among the plans the programmer has in store.
Niantic is also looking into Pokemon Go's GPS and battery utilization issues. It was also recently found that Pokemon Go grants Niantic complete access to users' total Google accounts when they register with that info.
Unlike other Pokémon games, capturing doesn't come down to tactically squaring off one Pokémon against another. That's due to the fact that Pokémon fights are finger swipe-versus-monster as you swipe a Poké Ball toward a Pokémon. We're happy to share our ideas with you on how to catch and find Pokémon for your growing Pokémon Go collection.
