I recall one cute monster that was the size of the small person and was covered with long strands of bizarre hair (hard to explain). But even that creature, though likable, was pretty nasty. My generation is pretty much figured that monsters should be nasty. Pokemon appears like they lack creature hormones or something. Just to mention it, there was additionally Speed Racer (excellent story- who can forget Spridal and Chim Chim- and who was Racer X really?). The Mach 5 was way cool. What little girl wouldn't enjoy that? Ash can not hold a candlewick to Speed!
