News anchor Allison Kropff from Tampa posted a video to her Facebook page of her "accidentally" interrupting a live weather forecast while playing "Pokemon Go." The Huffington Post reports meteorologist Bobby Deskins told Kropff to be more attentive. "You guys have got to be cautious with these phones, these Pokemon," he said. "You're just walking around all over the area." embed.
Eventually, and maybe most importantly, Yo-Kai can talk! Actually, the little boogers have a ton of style. Don't get me wrong; I love my carefully curated Pokemon collection to passing, but do I understand any of these critters that can just say their names? I understand the entire backstory of my main Yo-Kai, Jibanyan. Other Yo Kai that I meet can ask me for things and certainly get their feelings across... and that is awful trendy compared to Pokemon. Now, obviously, it is not possible at this point to make Pokemon suddenly able to speak to their trainers, but the Pokemon anime certainly spends time helping us get to know particular Pokemon as creatures with special styles and difficulties. I'd love it if the games could do a bit more of that instead of simply treating them as a means to an end.
In the immediate future, those upgrades will include Niantic focusing on stabilizing the servers and found the game in other areas, having only officially released in America, New Zealand, and Australia.
Yo-Kai Watch is a bit like the new Pokemon for Japanese children, complete with its hugely-popular anime series. The truth is, in a few ways, I believe it is even cooler than Pokemon.
First, Yo-Kai Watch takes place in our world, and your character has ordinary child concerns. You are not some pre teen who is tossed out into the crazy world to face down dangerous creatures and train them to engage in bizarre gladiatorial combat rites. You are a normal kid who wants to fit in with her (or his) friends and worries when her parents fight. Now, I'm not saying that all games should take place in the real world - I love fantasy and sci fi worlds! However, I 'm suggesting that Pokemon games could spend a little more time coping with narratives that we can relate to as people. The brief episodes that make up the story of Yo-Kai Watch remind me of miniature anime episodes, and that's exactly what I Have desired to see the Pokemon games do a bit more of when it comes to narratives.
What one other component of the game Niantic means to address is the lack of explanation it gives for particular game mechanisms. Addressing specifically the rings that form around a Pokemon while catching them, Hanke acknowledges that the game is not purposefully obtuse.
"It is not something that only minted and then issued on launching day and not changed."
"We got a lot of feedback during the beta, we made lots of improvements, we repaired lots of bugs, but I'd put it into that kind of something we'd love to make that more so that it's more apparent."
Instead, the programmer plans to update the game constantly.
In Yo-Kai Watch you play a kid who obtains the power to see and talk to Yokai, colorful spirits who embody human traits and emotions. You can recruit a ton of them to your side by defeating them in battle, but that's pretty much where the direct likeness to a Pokemon game endings. The battle system is real-time and fully distinct from Pokemon, and the stream of the story is totally different. However, there are a few things about Yo-Kai Watch's setting and the story that I think The Pokemon Company could learn from.
The people in the Yo-Kai Watch world also feel more real than Pokemon game people. Everybody, from little children to old people, in the Pokemon world, is obsessed with talking about Pokemon. Almost everybody you talk to gives you meta-game advice about Pokemon or Pokemon-related services. They aren't individuals; they are an lengthy tutorial delivery service. The folks in Yo-Kai Watch, on the other hand, have distinct personalities and issues that you can select to help them with. Frequently these difficulties can be solved by summoning or dispelling a Yokai, but they do not know that. They merely know that their employee is inexplicably late for work, they lost an important toy, or they do not understand how to ask out the target of their affection. In other words, you can see them as real individuals with interests unrelated to you and your quest. I 'd love to see more of that from.
Hanke noted that this does not mean the game will automatically receive major features with each upgrade, but Niantic is given to consistently working on and enhancing the game. As Hanke has previously said, he reiterates that features like trading and upgrades to PokeStops and gyms are among the plans the developer has in store.
Niantic is, in addition, looking into Pokemon Go's GPS and battery usage issues. It was also recently discovered that Pokemon Go allows Niantic full accessibility to users' total Google accounts when they register with that advice.
Unlike other Pokémon games, catching does not come down to tactically squaring off one Pokémon against another. That's because Pokémon battles are finger swipe-versus-monster as you swipe a Poké Ball toward a Pokémon. We're pleased to share our suggestions with you on how to find and capture Pokémon for your growing Pokémon Go collection.
