For me, the game is the only facet of the Pokemon phenomena that excites me. I think they have a half baked story full of interesting but incredibly limited Pokemon that does not make much sense or goes anyplace.

Pokemon is a phenomenon and children are going insane over it. What's it about a computer game that has taken off this big? It even has celestial epochs: we're now in the Age of the Pokemon Black and White. But most of the children buying these goods aren't even actually playing the video game itself! That looks to be another occurrence completely (for Nintendo, number two behind Super Mario).

Now, my son also is not a big fan of the story; I am unsure what it is about Pokemon that fascinates him so much (I can't help but think that kids are infusing their imagination into the story and are perhaps secret 'trainers,' a modern equivalent to the dragon slayer). In any case, he loves the Pokemon plush toys (plushies or Pokemon stuffed toys) though I am not sure why. Maybe to get a Pokemon stuffed toy would be to kind of capture one with a Pokeball. Regardless, I am neither a stingy or indulgent parent, which generally means that though he may want a plushie, he will not get one and ends up settling for cards.

Furthermore, the traffic to APKMirror has come from all around the globe, with the US only accounting for 10.8% of the site's background traffic over the last 28 days.

He loves the card game though and will get me to purchase him the Pokemon Black and White cards whenever he can. He and his pals can spend an intense hour or two on card gaming, though they don't seem so interested in the console game (that is more up my alley).

Regardless, Pokemon is trendy and times and tastes have changed. It appears we live in an age in which morals, good, evil, and heroism are much more blurred than we 'simpler' kids were. We merely needed to see the bad guy get it- not monsters fight it out in tournaments. Perhaps children are more sophisticated today. I do know that as a science fiction buff I do think Pokemon has possible, though by capitalizing on that they'd likely alienate their audience.

When I was the kid, Japan was clearly not selling video games, but they were writing and creating cartoon in addition to drama. And what little of it got to America I as a little girl even adored. First, there was Ultraman. The monsters were grotesque, Ultraman himself was a hero but awful too, and it was pure good vs. evil. Creatures came from outer space and Ultraman protected humanity from them. I recall one adorable creature that was the size of the small person and was covered with long strands of strange hair (difficult to describe). But even that monster, though likable, was pretty nasty. My generation is pretty much figured that monsters should be awful. Pokemon looks like they lack monster hormones or something. Merely to mention it, there was additionally Speed Racer (amazing story- who can forget Spridal and Chim Chim- and who was Racer X really?). The Mach 5 was way cool. What little girl would not enjoy that? Ashes can not hold a candlewick to Speed!

As a Mom, I am not too worried about leaving him alone at the Pokemon Center to window shop for himself. This being Japan. Nonetheless, I am worried about him getting lost in the tremendous crowds. So after much deliberation, I figured I should hang out with him here at the Pokemon Center here in Fukuoka. I do confess that after 20 minutes I was pretty much going out of my mind, and said to him point blank, "OK, Jojo, time for us to get a move on," but his appearance of distress made it clear that physical prodding and following brooding would be what I 'd have needed to survive to get him out of there.

It really is believed that women love to shop, and men do not but that equation doesn't include children and hobbyists. Getting my son out of the Pokemon Center, and trusting that he will forget that there is a Pokemon Center, are hopeless prospects. Pokemon is sure a hit.

Outside of the US, users all over the world have been attempting to download Pokemon GO using an app, bypassing the official app store. Since the app's launch, traffic to apkmirror.com exploded, increasing from just over 600,000 visits on July 5th to over 4 million visits on July 6th.

This traffic to APKMirror came mostly via Organic Search Traffic and over the 28 day period from June 10th to July 7th, 19.6% of desktop search traffic came from the search term "Pokemon go ask".

For my middle-aged generation, the attractiveness of Pokemon is a bit hard for me to get a grip on. If Pikachu is cute, then why is he capable of such destructive force? And if he is so deadly, then why is he so cute? But I must retract all that really, for I can't discover Pokemon in their animated avatar to be either cute or cool. Maybe for my generation, Pokemon simply don't have an appeal to us. We can not figure out what they stand for.
